TX GOP Convention Opens

Now that Donald Trump is likely to be the Republican nominee for President, did the intense Primary season cause irreperable harm in the Texas GOP?

Dr. Allan Saxe at UT Arlington says the Party is strong in the Lone Star State and Republicans will likely ban together and get behind Trump during this week’s convention. He says a lot of that support is a result of the intense mistrust in Democrat Hillary Clinton.

Dr. Saxe says even though the Democrats are pushing hard to turn Texas blue, it’s not happening as fast as they want it to.

He says Republicans can hold off the effort by letting people know what they stand for and how it could help the minority groups Democrats cater to.
