TxDOT: More closures at Loop 1604 and I-10 through weekend

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — The Loop 1604 Expansion continues to take shape on the North Side with multiple flyovers now popping up.

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is announcing several closures scheduled for 9 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Saturday.

The closures will include the Loop 1604 westbound (WB) frontage road from Vance Jackson Road to the I-10 WB frontage road, the Loop 1604 Eastbound (EB) mainlanes from the Vance Jackson Road exit ramp to the Lockhill Selma Road entrance ramp, the Loop 1604 WB collector-distributor at the I-10 interchange and a nightly closure of the I-10 WB frontage road from Loop 1604 to the La Cantera Parkway exit ramp.

Additionally, the I-10 WB to Loop 1604 WB cloverleaf ramp, the Loop 1604 WB to I-10 EB cloverleaf ramp, the I-10 EB to Loop 1604 EB cloverleaf ramp, the Loop 1604 WB to I-10 WB exit ramp and the I-10 WB to Loop 1604 EB exit ramp will be closed. These closures will be in place for bridge construction and bent cap placement.

DETOUR INFORMATION

Loop 1604 WB Frontage Road and to I-10
All travelers on the Loop 1604 WB frontage road looking to continue through the I-10 interchange will enter the Loop 1604 WB mainlanes east of Tradesman Drive. Travelers may exit to the Loop 1604 WB frontage road after the I-10 interchange. Those looking to access I-10 EB or WB will continue on the Loop 1604 WB frontage road and utilize the turnaround to the Loop 1604 EB frontage road at La Cantera Parkway, following signs for I-10 EB. Those looking to access I-10 EB will enter the I-10 EB mainlanes via the first available entrance ramp. Those looking to access I-10 WB will continue on the I-10 EB frontage road and utilize the turnaround at UTSA Boulevard. Travelers can enter the I-10 WB mainlanes via the first available entrance ramp.

I-10 WB Mainlanes to Loop 1604 WB

All travelers on the I-10 WB mainlanes looking to access Loop 1604 WB will exit via exit 555 to La Cantera Parkway and utilize the turnaround at La Cantera Parkway. Travelers will then follow the I-10 EB frontage road to the Loop 1604 WB frontage road, entering the Loop 1604 WB mainlanes after Valero Way.

I-10 WB Frontage Road south of Loop 1604 to the I-10 WB Mainlanes

(Nightly detour from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.)
All travelers on the I-10 WB frontage road just south of Loop 1604 looking to enter the I-10 WB mainlanes will follow the I-10 WB frontage road through the Loop 1604 interchange and turn left at the signalized intersection onto the Loop 1604 WB frontage road. Travelers will then turn left onto the I-10 EB frontage road and follow it to utilize the turnaround at UTSA Boulevard. Travelers can enter the I-10 WB mainlanes via the first available entrance ramp.

Loop 1604 EB Mainlanes

Traffic traveling on the Loop 1604 EB mainlanes will exit at the Vance Jackson Road exit ramp and continue on the Loop 1604 EB frontage road. Traffic will be able to re-enter highway at the Lockhill Selma Road entrance ramp.

I-10 WB to Loop 1604 EB

Traffic traveling westbound on I-10 will take the frontage road exit ramp (just north of UTSA Boulevard) and continue on the frontage road to Loop 1604 EB frontage road. Traffic will be able enter the Loop 1604 EB mainlanes using the Lockhill Selma Road entrance ramp.

I-10 EB to Loop 1604 EB

Traffic traveling EB on I-10 will take the frontage road exit ramp (just south of La Cantera Parkway) and continue on the frontage road to Loop 1604 EB frontage road. Traffic will be able enter the Loop 1604 EB mainlanes using the Lockhill Selma Road entrance ramp.

Additional closures will be happening at the Loop 1604 and I-10 interchange through the weekend. These will also begin at 9 p.m. Friday, but will continue through 5 a.m. Monday.
