TxDOT: New collector distributor opening on Loop 1604 at SH 151
SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — As part of the SH 151 Expansion project, TxDOT will open a new collector distributor road on northbound Loop 1604 at the SH 151 interchange by 12 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23.
In order to open the road, the Loop 1604 entrance ramp from westbound SH 151 and the Culebra Rd. exit ramp from northbound Loop 1604 will be permanently closed. The permanent ramp closures will begin at 9 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 21. These closures will allow crews to complete paving and striping operations.
A new temporary entrance ramp to northbound Loop 1604 before Culebra Rd. will also open by 12 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23. The temporary entrance ramp will be in place until the new flyover ramp opens connecting westbound SH 151 to northbound Loop 1604 by summer 2025.
Drivers are encouraged to consider the closure schedule and plan ahead for delays. Please note, construction schedules are subject to change and weather permitting.

Northbound Loop 1604 to Culebra Rd.
Drivers traveling northbound on Loop 1604 will exit SH 151, proceed to Wiseman Blvd., take the eastbound to westbound turnaround bridge, and follow the frontage road to Culebra Rd.
Westbound SH 151 to Northbound Loop 1604
During the closure, drivers traveling westbound on SH 151 will continue on the frontage road and use the entrance ramp after Culebra Rd. Once the collector distributor opens, drivers will use the new temporary entrance ramp before Culebra Rd.
