SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Your relaxing float down the Comal River could soon be interrupted by a bridge repair project.

TxDOT is about to begin repairs and improvements to the nearly 100 year old San Antonio Street Bridge in New Braunfels.

Once that gets underway, tubers, kayakers and swimmers will not be allowed under the bridge.

The 4.5 million dollar project will widen sidewalks and travel lanes. The complete closure of the bridge will take place on September 3rd. Work should be finished by Memorial Day of next year.
