281/1604 flyover ramps to open this weekend
SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) -Two new flyover ramps at the Highway 281/Loop 1604 interchange in the city’s North Side are set to open this weekend.
The flyover ramps will offer drivers a direct connection from the southbound mainlanes of 281 to the east-and westbound mainlanes of 1604. They’re part of the 281 expansion project, designed to improve traffic flow on the most congested corridor in the San Antonio area.
The addition of these flyover ramps will allow for seamless travel on six of the eight ramps planned for the US 281 and Loop 1604 interchange. The remaining two ramps are scheduled to open by the end of 2021.
