SAN ANTONIO (Texas News Radio) — Uber could be joining may other big name companies taking their talents to Texas.

The Dallas Morning News reports the ride-sharing company is considering Dallas for a major expansion that would make the North Texas city one of the company’s largest hubs outside San Francisco.

The paper said Uber has selected a site in Deep Ellum, just east of downtown.

It would house offices for several thousand employees.

Uber said there are some other cities on the list that it is considering and will make a decision by late August.

While the Dallas-Fort Worth region has been a hub for corporate relocations, most of those moves have been to nearby suburbs — primarily Plano — instead of the city of Dallas itself.
