Uvalde CISD sets date for Pete Arredondo’s termination hearing

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — They’ve set a date in Uvalde.
The Uvalde CISD says they will hold a termination hearing for Pete Arredondo August 24. Arredondo, the chief of the school district police department, has been on leave since June.
That’s when the public learned of his failure to lead police in the response to the massacre at Robb Elementary School in May.
The announcement of the termination hearing was made Tuesday, less than 24 hours after the Uvalde CISD board said they would let the families of the shooting victims know the date of the hearing before telling the public.
This will be the third attempt at a termination hearing for the embattled chief. The two previous hearings were delayed at the request of Arredondo’s attorney.
The Uvalde CISD recently selected the law firm of Walsh Gallegos to assist in Arredondo’s termination.
Classes for schools in the Uvalde CISD go back in session September 6.
