Vacant building near Downtown San Antonio damaged by fire

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A fire at a vacant warehouse in Downtown San Antonio is being blamed on homeless people who were sheltering inside.

Firefighters were called to the 800 block of East Locust Avenue at around 4 A.M.

The fire was put out quickly but it had already caused a lot of damage to the building’s interior.

Once crews got inside, they found evidence that the building was being used by several homeless people who likely started the fire to keep warm.

No injuries have been reported.
