VIA bus driver tests positive for coronavirus

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) – VIA has confirmed that a bus driver has tested positive for COVID-19.

The operator, who had not been to work since March 31, received the positive test results Monday.

Buses the driver operated have since been cleaned and disinfected, The driver’s routes are listed below.

VIA is in the process of identifying those who may have been in close contact with the bus operator. Customers who may have traveled on these routes or been in close contact with the operator can call VIA’s Customer Care Team at (210) 362-2020 with questions.

This is the second confirmed case reported among VIA employees. An administrative employee with little or no interaction with the community was reported on March 28. That person was also quarantined at home.
