SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — In a world where it seems you are charged a fee for everything, VIA is getting rid of one.

The transit company will be doing away with the 15 cent transfer fare in November.

And it’s not some “no transfer fare November” promotion, they are actually getting rid of it.

VIA President and CEO Jeff Arndt says they want to make transit more affordable.

“Our budget reflects VIA’s top priorities of providing reliable and affordable public transportation that people in our community can count on—and always making fiscally-responsible investments to get it done. Dropping the transfer fares will make it easier for our customers to plan their trips and take their journeys with us.”

The change is effective Monday, November 4th.
