Walkers from San Antonio raise money for the Thrivewell Cancer Foundation

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A San Antonio man is walking to bring awareness and raise money for a local cancer charity.
Tom Daniels started his walk from the Alamo to Port Aransas last week.
“We start on May the first in front of the Alamo. We made our way to Highway 181 and we’re going to walk 10 miles a day until we got to Port A on May 18th.”
Daniels says he wants to not only raise awareness on the health benefits of walking but also raise money for the Thrivewell Cancer Foundation.
“My family is like so many others that have been impacted by cancer. The Thrivewell Foundation is a wonderful organization. They not only have assistance and programs for people fighting cancer. They also have educational programs on the importance of diet and exercise for cancer survivors.”
Daniels says anyone who wants to walk with them is welcome.
“10 miles, 2 miles or all the way to Port A. We’d love to have people walk with us.”
Daniels assures donors that 100 percent of their financial contributions go to the Thrivewell Cancer Foundation.
“Everyone participating in the walk is covering their own expenses. Water, Gatorade, hotels, food. We are taking care of those expenses ourselves.”
