SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — San Antonio Walmart associates donated 200 lbs. of dog food to the San Antonio Food Bank’s pet food program this week.
The DaisyCares Pet Food Program at the San Antonio Food Bank provides pet food to families and individuals in need.
“As a result of COVID-19, food insecurity continues to plague many families and individuals, and food banks and pantries are having difficulties keeping up with demand. This includes pet food,” said Eric Cooper, President/CEO of the San Antonio Food Bank. “We are grateful for this generous contribution from our local Walmart store to our DaisyCares Pet Food Program.”
The San Antonio Food Bank accepts dog food, cat food, treats, cat litter and new pet supplies as donations to the DaisyCares program.
Monetary donations to DaisyCares go towards the purchasing of supplies as well as towards Project Kindness, a humane animal welfare program for school-aged kids in schools, after-school programs and at Daisy’s Barn on site at the food bank.
