Walmart starts fundraising campaign for victims of recent natural disasters

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Helping the victims of Hurricane Ida is as easy as a trip to your local Walmart store.

The retailer has set up a register campaign to support the American Red Cross in their relief efforts.

Customers can donate any amount they choose or round up their purchases to the nearest dollar with the money going to the American Red Cross.

Walmart says they will match dollar for dollar donations up to 5 million dollars.

That means up to $10 million could be donated to assist in the disaster relief.

The campaign will collect donated funds at Walmart and Sam’s Club locations until September 8.
