SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) – Several Terrell Hills homes have running water again, but the cleanup continues after a water main break.

The 8-inch water main on South Vandiver near Garraty Road burst around 9:30 Sunday night, sending water flowing onto yards, and even some structures.

“We were able to isolate it down and reduce the effect to about five houses,” said SAWS spokeswoman Anne Hayden. Crews worked overnight to restore water service in the area, but some residents are still cleaning up after getting water damage on their property.

One homeowner told KTSA News the water main break flooded his guest house with about a foot-and-a-half of water, causing thousands of dollars worth of damage.

Hayden says there’s a process for filing a claim. If you sustain damage because of a SAWS water main break, you can call 704-SAWS to file a claim.

SAWS crews were to return to the area Monday to complete repairs and replace the asphalt that was ripped by the water main break.
