SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Democrat Wendy Davis is getting back into politics.

On Monday, she released a video, announcing that she will run for Texas’ 21st Congressional District.

Davis became a national political figure when as a Texas State Senator in 2013,  she held a 13 hour filibuster of an anti-abortion law.

But Davis left the Senate to run for Governor in 2014 and lost in a landslide to current Governor Greg Abbott. She’ll take on freshman Republican Representative Chip Roy.

In 2018, Roy barely won the district that stretches from San Antonio to Austin.
