Woman arrested after leading police on chase from New Braunfels to The Alamo Quarry shopping center in San Antonio
SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — She was smiling and waving one minute, then handcuffed and sitting in the back of a police vehicle the next.
A bizarre chase that began in New Braunfels came to an end in a North Side shopping center parking lot Thursday afternoon.
Police say they began pursuing a 37-year-old woman in New Braunfels.
But she refused to stop, leading Texas State Troopers down IH-35 before she turned into The Alamo Quarry shopping center.
The woman continued to drive around the parking lot, taking several laps, waving through the sunroof and smiling as she ran into other vehicles before she finally stopped.
The woman then got out of her SUV and ran into a salon.
That’s where she was caught and arrested for driving while intoxicated, assaulting a public servant and evading arrest.
Video from a bystander shows the woman smiling and laughing as she was placed in handcuffs.
The woman was booked at the Bexar County Jail, her name hasn’t been released and there’s been no report of any injuries.
