Woman dead after allegedly pointing Uzi at San Antonio police sergeant

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A woman has been shot and killed after allegedly pointing an Uzi at a San Antonio police officer at a busy Northwest Side shopping center.
Police got a call around 5:15 p.m. Wednesday about a woman who appeared to be distraught at Huebner Commons Shopping Center on Huebner Road at Vance Jackson.
A sergeant who was nearby responded to the call. Police Chief William McManus says when the officer approached her, she pointed an Uzi at him.
“She drew the weapon. The sergeant fired and struck her multiple times,” said McManus.
The sergeant, who has been with the police department 23 years, is on administrative duty as the investigation continues.
