Woman dies from gunshot wounds on West San Antonio street, shooter still on the run

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A woman has been killed on San Antonio’s West side and police are looking for the shooter.

It happened in the 220 block of Woley Drive at around 12:30 A.M. Tuesday.

FOX 29 reports the victim was walking with a friend when someone in a white car pulled up.

Police says she apparently knew whoever was in the car because she stopped to speak with them.

But at some point , she began arguing with the person in the car who pulled a gun.  She yelled to her friend to warn him about the weapon and when she turned to run away, she was shot.

When police arrived they found the victim with a gunshot wound to the back and another to her face.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man who was with her was not hurt in the shooting and was able to share his account of the shooting with police.

The shooter is still on the run and the victim’s name hasn’t been released.
