Woman shot while fleeing robbery attempt in Southeast San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A 19 year old woman is recovering after she was shot while trying to get away during a robbery attempt.

The victim was in her car on Southeast Military Drive with three other people at around 11 P.M. Sunday. Two men walked up, pulled out their guns and demanded that the people in the car hand over their belongings.

When the driver tried to speed away, the crooks opened fire, hitting a woman sitting in the passenger seat in the leg.

The driver got to a parking lot and called for help.

The victim was transported by ambulance to a local hospital and is expected to recover.

Police are still looking for the shooters.
