SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A woman has been killed after she was hit by a train making it’s way through the city Sunday night.
Just before 9 PM, the conductor of an oncoming Amtrak train saw the woman walk onto the tracks near Rivas and North San Marcos, then laying down across them.
He tried to warn the woman by using the horn, but he couldn’t stop the train in time and the woman was hit then dragged about 20 feet.
EMS attempted to save her life after removing her from under the train but she was pronounced dead a few minutes later.
Police say the woman was in her mid-50’s and her name hasn’t been released.
