SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — An Amazon delivery driver is in serious condition after he was attacked by a dog Monday morning.

KENS 5 reports the driver was walking up to a home on McNarney Street at around 11:30 when the dog, an American Staffordshire Terrier, jumped the fence and attacked him.

The owner came outside to pull the dog away from the driver, identified as 22 year-old Jose Rodriguez.

But not before causing serious injuries to Ruiz’s face.

Ruiz was rushed to an area hospital while the dog was surrendered to Animal Care Services and is in quarantine.

ACS says the owner will face charges for the attack, for not having a rabies vaccination or microchip, and because the dog was off-property.

The investigation continues.
