C’mon, man, as the President likes to mutter.

You just knew there were some ice cream-stained classified documents amidst Biden’s memorabilia from the vice presidential years. I mean, Trump had some, Hillary had some…you gotta watch these septuagenarians like hawks. They’ll steal the Reader’s Digest right out of the waiting room!

In a slapstick turn of events, while Democrats fantasize about getting Donald Trump on obstruction, the current Democratic incumbent has been found to have had a reported 10-12 classified docs at the “Penn Biden Center”, which is described as his “think tank”.

Make your own think-tank joke, I’m busy.

Yes, he “had” them—they were in the office he used at the think tank between 2018 and 2020. And since the think tank was founded in ’18, but Biden left office in January 2017, who knows where they were or how often Hunter rented them out. But I digress.

Naturally, Dems are moving the goalposts fast here. This is different, they say, because Biden’s lawyers “found” them, they were ‘retained accidentally”, the White House is cooperating, it’s “just a handful” and they were “immediately sent to the National Archives”.

Well, champ, not immediately. Is the standard now that you can possess classified docs for “a while” and it’s totes fine if you return them yourself?

As for accidental, didn’t Team Trump try that argument too, among many others? People saying it in Biden’s defense were not OK with it as an excuse for Trump. Small point: Biden as VP never had the declassification authority Trump belatedly claimed as president.

Bottom line: I don’t buy that either Trump or Biden took them “accidentally”.

One thing I do know: politicians will keep having these “accidents” until it’s criminally dangerous to them. Especially pols old enough to know better.
