Family violence call ends in officer-involved shooting in Northeast San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) – A San Antonio police officer has shot a gunman involved in a domestic violence incident in the Northeast Side.

A teenage girl called police early Monday and said her parents were arguing at a home on Tropical Drive and the man had a history of violence.

Chief William McManus says officers responding to the call around 4:30 this morning were talking to the girl at the front door of the home when a man also came to the door armed with a gun.  At some point, an officer opened fire striking the man.  He was transported to a hospital.  McManus says the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
