HEB to start construction of new store/fulfillment center in Cibolo

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A busy intersection in the city of Cibolo is about to see much heavier traffic.

HEB is planning to open a store in a couple of years now that Cibolo City Council unanimously approved a deal.

The new 110-thousand-square-foot store will fill in an empty 45 acre field at the corner of FM 1103 and Main Street.

But that’s just the beginning.

There will also be a 55-thousand-square-foot electronic fulfillment center to fill curbside and delivery orders robotically.

The store is scheduled to open by summer 2023, and the fulfillment center begins operating in 2025.

The city offered the grocery giant more than 2 million dollars in incentives including rebates for property taxes and credits for infrastructure fees.

The new store and fulfillment center will bring more than 300 jobs to the city.
