Homeless man drowns in rushing storm water on San Antonio’s North side

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — The rain storms that rolled through the area late Sunday night have claimed a life.

Police say a homeless man who was camped under a bridge at Highway 281 and Bitters was swept away by rushing rain water.

Firefighters were alerted to the situation and rushed to the scene.

A helicopter was called in to search for the man. He was spotted at Wurzbach Parkway near Jones Maltsberger.

Crews were able to get to the man but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

His name and age have not been released.
