National Weather Service says heavy rain possible for the region late Monday into Tuesday

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Just when you thought it was safe to wash your vehicle.

Some much needed rain could be falling on the region when you wake up Tuesday morning.

The National Weather Service is predicting a strong storm system will dump some rain on us beginning Monday night and continue through Tuesday afternoon.

The highest amounts are expected East of I-35 and I37 where 1 to 2 inches of rain are possible.

Some areas, including Karnes, DeWitt and Lavaca Counties could see isolated strong to severe storms late Tuesday morning into the afternoon hours with the possibility of strong winds along with the rain.

That all depends on the evolution of the warm front position at that time, but a slight shift northward of the front could increase the threat area.

Stay tuned to San Antonio’s severe weather station, 550 KTSA and FM 107.1 for updates on the storm system as they become available.
