SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — The heavy rain overnight flooded many area streets. Eight passengers aboard a VIA bus experienced one water logged roadway firsthand.

They were riding on Dreamland Drive. That’s on the north side between Lockhill-Selma and Vance Jackson when they got stuck in the fast moving water. They were trapped for several hours, until rescue crews used a ladder to reach the bus and handed life jackets to the passengers before they climbed to safety.

Police are trying to determine if the bus driver ignored high water warnings.
