27 year old Austin resident drowns in Guadalupe River in New Braunfels

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A 27 year old man has drowned in the Guadalupe River in New Braunfels.

Police were called to the 1400 block of Gruene Road at around 5:30 P.M. Monday.

When they arrived they found a man who had been pulled from the river. He had reportedly gone under water for an undetermined amount of time.

First responders performed CPR while transporting the man to Christus Santa Rosa Hospital in New Braunfels where he died soon after arriving.

Police identified the victim as Pablo Rodriguez from Austin.

Police report his death appears to be accidental but an investigation continues.
