Man shot and killed by US Marshals in San Antonio identified by Bexar County Medical Examiner

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — The Bexar County Medical Examiner has released the name of a man shot by US Marshals in downtown San Antonio last week.

46 year old Michael Anthony Oles was wanted by police in New Braunfels on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Marshals were acting on a tip that he was in downtown San Antonio when they found him in the parking garage of the Double Tree Hotel on West Cesar Chavez Boulevard at around 11:30 A.M. Friday.

While Marshals were attempting to arrest Oles, shots were fired, and Oles was hit in the chest.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. There have been no further details released about the shooting but Texas DPS says they recovered a handgun from the scene.

The investigation by Texas DPS is continuing.
