Chance for severe thunderstorms, strong winds through Sunday

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — The National Weather Service is warning of potentially severe weather for San Antonio, the Hill Country and much of the I-35 Corridor through Sunday.

The risk for tornadoes remains low for the region, but they cannot be ruled out. Damaging winds are a possibility for San Antonio, New Braunfels and much of the Coastal Plains. This area is at a Level 1 out of 5 risk for severe weather through the weekend. Current weather models show likely thunderstorms that could bring excessive rain, strong winds and large hail in many areas.

In areas getting the most rain, amounts of anywhere from 2 to 4 inches are possible. Hail stones the size of golf balls are possible in some areas where thunderstorms develop.
