National Weather Service: Increasing temperatures, severe thunderstorms possible later this week

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — The National Weather Service says unseasonably warm temperatures could lead to severe weather later this week.

In a Tuesday statement, NWS says if things go as expected, thunderstorms could start firing up by Thursday.

As of now, the risk for severe weather is not very high, but the possibility for large hail and damaging winds has the attention of weather forecasters.

The storms could impact an area stretching from the Hill Country into the IH-35 corridor, and possibly the Coastal Plains.

The timeline for the storms is Thursday afternoon into the evening hours.

In the meantime, temperatures are expected to be above normal for this time of year, ranging from the mid to upper-90’s.
