NEISD middle school student reportedly charged with making terroristic threats

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A North East ISD student is facing felony charges after reportedly making threats on social media against a middle school in the district.

A seventh grade student at Krueger Middle School made the threats on Instagram, according to a letter sent home to parents on Tuesday.

The student, who has not been identified because they are a minor, is facing at least one felony charge of making a terroristic threat, according to district officials.

Here is the full letter sent home to parents by Principal Cynthia Rubio.

“I want to let you know about a situation we are dealing with on campus regarding a possible threat that showed up on Instagram. Several students and parents have come forward to let us know about the post. We have identified the student whose account the threat originated from, and we are in contact with the student’s family. The North East Police Department is investigating along with us and they do not believe there is any credibility to this threat. Regardless, I want you to know we are aware and taking appropriate action. Please continue to discuss with your children the dangers of creating/spreading rumors, and the impact of social media and posting inappropriately to any online forum. If you have concerns or questions, please call.”
