Ruffles chips truck stolen from Converse Walmart, crashes into Bexar County home

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A 27-year-old man stole a Ruffles box truck from a Converse Walmart and crashed it into a nearby home Tuesday.

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office said it and the Converse Police Department were called to the Walmart on FM 78 for a report of a theft of a vehicle.

Responding deputies soon learned the stolen vehicle was actually a Ruffles-branded box truck.

The truck ended up on Cavendish Court off of Binz-Engleman near FM 1518.

The sheriff’s office said the suspect, Jeff Jetin, jumped out of the truck while it was still moving.  The truck then crashed into a pickup before crashing into the garage door of the home.

Jetin ran off on foot, climbing over fences in an effort to get away.

He was eventually arrested after a lengthy foot chase.

Jetin was arrested for theft of a vehicle and evading arrest/detention with a vehicle.  He is currently being held in the Bexar County Jail.

It is not clear why the suspect stole the truck.
