SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — It turns out Mother Nature is bringing more than just needed rain to San Antonio and the surrounding area.

Joint Base San Antonio is confirming on the X social media platform the funnel cloud touched down around 8 a.m. Thursday morning, and an employee at KSAT-12 captured video footage of the twister during their morning commute.

The tornado reportedly came down in the area of I-35 and Highway 281.

Only minor damage is being reported and so far nobody appears to have been hurt.

Scattered showers are expected to continue through much of Thursday, so the threat of severe weather will remain.

Weather forecasters tell KTSA News the tornado threat is low, but they are possible during the current weather conditions.
