Young children among 3 people injured in late night crash on San Antonio’s Southwest side

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Three people, including two young children, were sent to the hospital late Sunday night following a three vehicle crash on the Southwest side.

Police say it happened just after 10 P.M. when the driver in a red SUV ran a red light at the intersection of Southwest Military and New Laredo Highway.

The SUV driver slammed into a van, causing damage so extensive that the driver had to be cut out of the vehicle by firefighters.

The SUV driver also hit a Toyota Tundra but that driver wasn’t injured.

Once the driver was pulled out of the van, he was rushed to a hospital where medical staff determined he was in critical condition.

Two children in the van were transported to a hospital with minor injuries.

The driver who ran the red light was not hurt. He’sĀ been charged with Aggravated Assault.
