Best high school football players in San Antonio, U.S. to play at the Alamodome Saturday

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Many of the best high school football players in the nation will be on full display at the Alamodome on Saturday, January 7.

The All-American Bowl gets everything started at noon, with the best players from the eastern and western United States going head-to-head. Previous participants include notable names like Andrew Luck, Odell Beckham, Jr., Tim Tebow, Chase Young, DeMarco Murray and Tyron Smith. The annual all-star game has been played in San Antonio since 2002.

Local high school football talent will then take the field at 5 p.m. for the San Antonio Sports All-Star Football Game, presented by H-E-B. A total of 116 players from 64 area high schools will be featured as this all-star game celebrates its 45th anniversary. Many of these players have committed to play at some of the top universities in the country, but others will be trying to get another chance to impress college scouts as they try to land scholarship offers.

Brennan High School’s Stephen Basore will coach Team Black, and David Saenz, Jr., from Steele High School, will coach Team Gold.

One ticket serves as admission for both the All-American Bowl and the San Antonio Sports All-Star Football Game presented by H-E-B.  General admission ($15) tickets are available at the Alamodome Box Office and through Ticketmaster.com.

The All-American Bowl will air on NBC and the All-Star Game will be broadcast on San Antonio’s Sports Star,  FM 94.1 FM and AM1250 a swell as The CW35.
